Mae Hong Son - Pha Bong Hot Spring

Photo Gallery of Pha Bong Hot Spring in Thailand.
It was a pity it was raining. This is a hot spring of Mae Hong Son in Northern Thailand, called Pha Bong Hot Spring.
Mae Hong Son is about 300 km to the northwest from Chiang Mai, and it's close to the border between Thailand and Myanmar. It will take about 40 minutes from Chiang Mai by air (if my memory is correct. :D ).

Mae Hong Son is famous for Long Neck Tribe - Ban Nai Soi, the beautiful temples at the edge of a lake, Wat Chong Kham / What Chong Klang and the temple on top of a mountain, Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu reported on a different page.
Check out the Mae Hong Son top page for other spots.

They have a hot spring called Pha Bong Hot Spring about 11 kilometers to the south of the city.
How wonderful they have a hot spring. As a Japanese, I like it very much. :D
(I ever heard that Chiang Mai has hot springs as well. Bangkok has some also... ? )

Not so many pictures here but let's check out what the hot spring looks like with me. Here we go !

[Pha Bong] Let's go to Pha Bong Hot Spring !

Now, we got to the hot spring, Pha Bong Hot Spring ! I thought the name was Bourbon (whisky) not Pha Bong. I'm not drunken anyway. :D
It was pity when we visited there (long time ago, in 2004), it was raining. It's a very wide place. Now check around. Where is the hot spring ... ?
After walking for a while in the wide place, you'll see a pond-like spot in the back. Oh, that is the hot spring, right ?

Now, we got there. This is like a big pond but a hot spring. Hmmm, there is no guest. Is this because it's raining or the season for hot springs in Thailand is different, not now ?

Hot water comes from this hole ? You can see this at the end of the bridge over the hot spring.
The man over there is maybe a staff here. You can see it's steaming on the surface of water.

A square water cistern besides the hot spring. Hot water comes out here as well ?
A mineral bathing spa room. There are two kind of rooms: big and small rooms. This is a big room.

Big rooms are 400 Baht for bathing.
This is a small room. 50 Baht for bathing.

At first, I thought no guest was here but they were maybe in the bathing rooms.
I'm afraid I had not enough time to try the bathing rooms but still I'm very interested in what the rooms inside look like because not so many people in Thailand sit in hot water like Onsen in Japan.
