"Samut SongKhram" is about 72 kilometers, one to two hours by car, from Bangkok, located at the mouth of the Mae Klong river to the Gulf of Thailand.
There are the well-known market, Mae Klong Market which covers railways, Ampawa Floating Market, a boat sightseeing trip, and you can enjoy the relaxing and slow time passing of Thailand.
About floating market, there are two famous markets in Thailand. One is the most famous floating market: Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, the other is the Ampawa Floating Market in this province. It's said that Damnoen is the morning and Ampawa is the evening market.

| We visited Mae Klong Market which is famous for the style in which the market covers a railroad even though trains come and go
and Ampawa Floating Market in Samut Songkhram, from Bangkok to Samut Songkhram by Sky Train (BTS) and railway. It was a very relaxing and peaceful trip. At first, we went to Saphan Taksin station of Sky Train (BTS) and went to Wong Wian Yai station of Mahachai line in Thonburi of Bangkok by taxi. From the Wong Wian Yai station, we took a train and went to the last station, Mahachai in Samut Sakhon, south-west of Bangkok. It's about 30 kilometers from Wong Wian Yai to Mahachai and takes one hour.

| Now, we arrived at Mahachai station. Mahachai is about one hour from Wong Wian Yai station in Bangkok. It's located in Samut Sakhon, south-west of Bangkok, and famous for seafood. 
We walked around outside of the station only for a while. It
was a very busy place like the picture. |

| After the Mahachai station of Mahachai line, we walked to a boat pier nearby
and went across a river called "Tha Chin River" by boat, then walked
to Ban Laem station of Mae Klong line. We walked from the river to Ban Laem station while enjoying the scenery along the way. It took about 10 minutes or more. |

Ban Laem station (After about 10-minute walk, we got to Ban Laem station. We had to have one-hour lay-over and anyway relaxed and wait for the train while having something to eat or checking around the station. There was an internet shop in the station. Good to kill time.:D ) |

| Finally, we arrived at Mae Klong. (It was about one hour from Ban Laem station to Mae Klong station.) 
The railroad here is covered by a market.(A TV program in Japan showed what ITT was like.) It's a little difficult to describe how I felt when I saw this but I liked their easy-going style very much. (Are there some reason why they have shops covering the railway, like, no need to pay for the place ? :D ) I feel it's dangerous but you can see how quickly they close sunshades and keep their goods off when trains come and go. (Looks like the market is well-known because of the uniqueness and a lot of people were waiting for a train going through the market to take pictures. I was one of them, though.) |
