< Royal Barge Procession >
  • It seems that Royal Barge Procession dates back to the Ayutthaya period (1351−1767). It was held for religious and ceremonial purposes.
  • Royal Barge Procession was regularly taken place, However, it seems that it is held only on a special event nowadays because t costs a lot.
  • Royal Barges are stored in the Royal Barges National Museum along the Chao Phraya River, located around the entrance of BangGorg-Noi canal.

(IMPACT Exhibition Center, Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi Province)

The exhibition features His Majesty's biography, successive Kings,
His Majesty's activities, and royally initiated projects. The place is really full of people.

By the way, they sell yellow shirts here and a great number of people rushed and bought them; there was a day when one million shirts were sold within a half day.

This is because "yellow" is the birthday colour of His Majesty and people want to show their love to the King to wear a yellow shirt, and also the government recommend that people should wear a yellow shirt everyday until 15 June 2006 and every Monday up to the end of the year 2006.
