[Bangkok etc 2] Royal Barges National Museum |
|||
Royal Barges National Museum is along the river, Chao Phraya that is running through Bangkok.
It's located around the entrance of BangGorg-Noi canal. This place used to be a royal palace and store royal barges, and it opened to the public as Royal Barges National Museum in 1947. " Royal Barges " are boats for the exclusive use of the royal family and beautifully decorated boats are displayed. This is a museum, however, when the barges are used, they sail out to the river. I visited here twice; once in 2005 by sightseeing boat, the second in 2011, I didn't know why but boats didn't drop by the stop, and halfway by boat then by foot.
