Ancient City, also known as Muang Boraan, is located in Samut Prakan, next province of Bangkok, about one hour from
Bangkok.
A lot of famous or historical places of Thailand (landmarks, palaces or
temples of old days such as the ear of Dvaravati Kingdom, Sukhothai and
Ayutthaya) have been reconstructed (as miniature replicas) here. You can
enjoy whole Thailand places to visit.
(There is a same kind of place in Pattaya, called Mini Siam, the place that displays famous spots of Thailand and other countries, more than 100 objects with a scale of 1 to 25)

The architectural style, showing the influence of Khmer art, is considered the art of the Lop Buri school. The sanctuary dates back to the 13th century A.D., when the Bayon school of Khmer was initiated and prospered in Phra Nakhon Luang (Nakhon Thom) of the Khmer Empire. |

![]() A lot of boats like Royal Barges are on the big pond. The late Ayutthaya became rich and well-known among foreigners as one of the important trade cities in South east Asia. To celebrate the prosperity and dignity of the kingdom, many state ceremonies and artistic work were created, and a group of royal barges were also initiated on this occasion. The royal barges, adapted from war ships, were used in many important state ceremonies such as the reception of the royal guests and the royal procession welcoming diplomats and carrying royal letters or commands. |

Thai Junk In the old days, Thai junks like this used to be moored along the banks of the Chao Phraya River from the estuary in Samut Prakan Province all the way up to Bangkok. They gradually disappeared some 50 years ago. |
